A police officer in Pennsylvania (USA) showed all his bravery by putting aside his fear of heights to save a child.

Eric Robbins was patrolling a residential area in Philadelphia when he received a call from neighbors saying there was a child walking on the roof of a nearby house.

The child didn’t seem too concerned about the 9-meter drop below him, but Robbins knew he had to rush to the rescue to prevent a tragedy.

“I just knew I needed to get him off that roof,” Robbins said to ABC 6. However, Robbins suffers from a fear of heights, so the situation was very delicate for him.

Still, he was able to put that aside, and in the footage from his body cam, you can see how he entered the house, climbed to the second floor, went out the window, and pulled the child off the roof before something terrible happened.

The family thanked the officer for the rescue and his dedication to “protect and serve with so much compassion.”

“Overcoming my fear of heights instantly and getting him off that roof… it really hit me because it could have been my child, and I would’ve wanted someone to do the same,” Robbins added.
